Certified applicants include a cover page which indicates clearly that you are a Georgia certified peace officer. Also include copies of your P.O.S.T. certification, training history, DD-214 (if applicable) and resume.
If you are a certified officer in Georgia, we encourage you to file your application as soon as possible due to the fact that when openings become available, we will fill the positions from the pool of applications from certified officers that are on file at the time the position becomes available.
For those who are interested in employment with the Floyd County Police Department but are not yet certified, we encourage you to continue your interest in law enforcement by furthering your education and independently attaining P.O.S.T. Certification. Opportunities for pre-service certification are available through Coosa Valley Technical College. CVTC offers a program in which students receive the mandated curriculum for P.O.S.T. certification and college credit.
